Combine comfort and energy savings every day with the Smart Modulating Thermostat

Smart Modulating Thermostat

A thermostat compatible with OpenTherm technology

There are two types of boilers: conventional and modulating. Unlike a conventional boiler, a modulating boiler can adjust the temperature of the water in the heating circuits to manage the temperature in the home with precision. To do so, it must exchange complex information with the thermostat. “OpenTherm” is a communication protocol that enables a modulating boiler and a thermostat to exchange information to control both heating and domestic hot water.

Adapt your heating to your lifestyle

With just five questions, the Smart Modulating Thermostat can create a heating schedule that suits your lifestyle so you only heat your home when it’s useful. Do you leave at 8am and return at 6pm? Your smart heating turns off while you’re away and starts up again automatically before you return. If you’re going away for a longer period of time, program the Away and Frost-Protection mode.

Change the temperature at any time, even when you’re not at home

Your Netatmo Thermostat is smart and can be controlled remotely from your smartphone, tablet or computer using the Energy or Home + Control apps. If something unexpected comes up, meaning you need to go home early, you can adjust the temperature before you arrive! You can also control it manually at home.

Your heating adapts to the weather

With the Auto-Adapt feature, the Modulating Thermostat takes into account the outdoor temperature and your home’s insulation to plan when to turn on the heating and keep your house at the perfect temperature.

Be alerted if any problems arise

Your Modulating Thermostat’s Autocare system alerts you in real-time through the app of any issues detected with your OpenTherm boiler. There’s no need to call out a heating engineer for a simple diagnosis.

Control your domestic hot water

The Modulating Thermostat regulates domestic hot water production through a dedicated schedule. If there’s a change in routine, you can enable or disable the hot water production and adjust the temperature remotely from your smartphone. This feature is only available if your boiler is compatible with OpenTherm and has an integrated hot water tank (a system OpenTherm Modulating Boiler).

FAQ

__QUESTION_COMPAT

The Netatmo Smart Modulating Thermostat is designed to work with your OpenTherm modulating boiler and make the most of it. It controls the modulation of the boiler, and you will benefit from the remote control mode, the Auto-Adapt function, the schedule according to your habits and the fine-tuned regulation (PDI).

What’s the distance between the Smart Modulating Thermostat and the Relay?

The Modulating Thermostat will remain connected to its Relay up to 100 metres in an open space. Please note that obstacles such as walls or a change in floor may reduce this range.

How is the Smart Modulating Thermostat powered?

The Thermostat uses 3 AAA batteries (provided). They have a battery life of 2 years. The Relay is connected to the mains either via the boiler adapter or a conventional socket.

Can I manage a multi-zone installation?

Yes, if the system has several heating circuits (e.g., ground floor and 1st floor). Each zone must be regulated by either a Smart Thermostat, a Smart Modulating Thermostat or Smart Radiator Valves, depending on the installation type. This means you can set different temperatures for different zones for greater comfort and energy savings.

Can you create more than one heating schedule/programme?

Yes, you can create up to 10 heating schedules.
