In the smart camera market, privacy is a huge concern and a crucial element, even more so if you want to put a camera inside your home. Users want features that give them peace of mind. Confidentiality is at the heart of Netatmo’s product development process, ensuring that personal data is automatically protected while minimising the risk of privacy breaches.
It therefore makes sense that one of the camera’s key features should address these concerns. This feature is called Netatmo Smart Privacy. The new Indoor Camera ADVANCE is equipped with a mechanical privacy shutter. With facial recognition and geolocation, the camera can automatically close the shutter when you arrive home so you are no longer filmed. Similarly, the camera detects when you leave thanks to geofencing technology, which identifies when you exit the perimeter around your home and automatically reopens the shutter.
Effortless, free-standing installation
The new Camera ADVANCE is available in two colours, black and white, and can be installed in three different ways: on a piece of furniture, on the ceiling, or on a wall using a wall mount. It also features a swivel head and a 130-degree viewing angle to provide optimal surveillance in each room.
For maximum flexibility, Netatmo offers two accessories: one enabling connection via PoE and the other designed to replace a plug socket.
Although Netatmo focuses on creating devices that stand out for their functional added value, it has not neglected technical performance. Thanks to its powerful image signal processor, the camera delivers 2K HDR image quality at 30 frames per second, ensuring clear, crisp and detailed images.
The camera is also compatible with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and adapts to all home networks. It uses MIMO technology, which significantly improves coverage and HD streaming quality by using multiple antennas to send and receive data.
To meet the diverse needs of users, the camera is equipped with high-quality microphones, enabling two-way communication as well as specific uses such as monitoring children or supporting at-home care for elderly family members. Netatmo has once again carefully integrated this feature using beamforming technology, which filters out ambient noise. Two microphones capture and optimise sound to eliminate echoes, while the 80-decibel loudspeaker allows you to react and communicate clearly and instantly from a distance.
The new Netatmo Camera is wired rather than battery-powered. This deliberate choice ensures complete peace of mind in everyday use. Once installed, there is no need to recharge a battery, adjust the view, or renew a subscription.
Finally, the Indoor Camera ADVANCE can interact with the Netatmo Smart Siren and Netatmo Outdoor Cameras, whether or not they are equipped with a siren. This interconnectivity allows users to create a complete alarm system for enhanced home protection.
