FAQ

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, and potentially deadly toxic gas. It comes from the incomplete combustion of fuels such as wood, butane, coal, petrol, oil, natural gas, petroleum and propane. It prevents the blood's ability to transport oxygen. For your safety, it is recommended to install carbon monoxide detectors to measure carbon monoxide levels.
It depends on the level of exposure to carbon monoxide:
  • 100 ppm = Mild exposure. Mild headaches, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, flu-like symptoms.
  • 200 ppm = Medium exposure. Throbbing headaches, drowsiness, confusion, rapid heart rate.
  • 400 ppm = High exposure. Dizziness, nausea, visual impairment, muscular weakness. Risk of death after 3 hours of exposure.
  • 800 ppm = Extreme exposure. Convulsions, loss of consciousness, brain damage, heart and lung failure followed by death. Risk of death after 2 hours of exposure."
You can install an unlimited number of Netatmo Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarms in the Home + Security app.
The Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm is a battery-powered device. The battery is built in. It was designed to cover the entire lifespan of the detector. For safety reasons and to guarantee maximum efficiency, all carbon monoxide detectors must be replaced after 10 years because the carbon monoxide detection sensor wears out over time.

A few weeks before the battery runs out, the product's fault LED will start to flash orange every minute and the alarm will beep twice every minute. Your detector will also send a low-battery alert to your smartphone.
No, you cannot link several Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarms, even if all the products appear in the same app.
No, the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm is a detector which doesn't detect the smoke. In fact, it's not recommended to have a two-in-one product because the ideal location for a carbon monoxide alarm isn't the same as that of a smoke alarm. A carbon monoxide detector must be placed on the wall as carbon monoxide mixes with the air, whereas a smoke detector must be placed on the ceiling because smoke rises very quickly. The Netatmo Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm is an NF-certified product, a certification that doesn't certify two-in-one products, but only separate smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.
