Netatmo unveils the new Weather Station ORIGINAL

Thirteen years ago, the French company Netatmo launched its very first product: the Weather Station. The name "Netatmo" itself—a blend of "Net" for Internet and "Atmo" for atmosphere—embodies this founding ambition. Staying true to the iconic design that marked the brand’s beginnings, the new Weather Station ORIGINAL retains the minimalist elegance that has won over users worldwide. With the introduction of two trendy new colors—“Sand,” a soft and warm beige, and “Mint,” a refreshing pastel green (available soon)—the Weather Station ORIGINAL becomes more than just a connected device: it’s a true decorative object that fits seamlessly into any interior or exterior style, from contemporary to classic.

...With Ultra-Precise Data... 

Since its launch, the Netatmo Weather Station has become a must-have for users seeking to better understand their environment. Thanks to its high-precision sensors, it measures temperature, humidity, indoor air quality, atmospheric pressure, and noise levels in real time, offering a complete and personalized view of the home climate. These proven features have made the Station both useful and intuitive. 

Now, Netatmo goes even further by adding two major new data points: UV index and sunlight exposure, and pollen tracking. 

  • UV Index and Sunlight Exposure are displayed on a scale from 0 to 11+: none, low, moderate, high, very high, and extreme. When the UV index reaches a high level, the Netatmo Weather app displays the following message: 
    “Without protection, skin problems may occur quickly. Protect yourself effectively: wear covering clothing, sunglasses, and apply high-protection sunscreen. Stay cautious, even on cloudy days.” 
    This alert aims to raise awareness of sun exposure risks, especially during summer or for those with sensitive skin. 

Users also get a projected view of the UV index over the next 24 hours, helping them anticipate risk periods and plan outdoor activities with peace of mind. The feature offers a clear, intuitive reading of exposure peaks—ideal for family outings, sports sessions, or relaxing in the sun. 

Additionally, the Weather Station ORIGINAL  now provides enhanced sunlight analysis: users can instantly see the total remaining sunlight for the day, the exact time of the next solar event (sunrise or sunset), and an hour-by-hour breakdown of expected sunlight percentages over the next 24 hours. This helps users better understand the solar rhythm and optimize daily planning—especially useful for gardeners, athletes, and photography enthusiasts. 

  • Pollen Tracking addresses a growing need among allergy sufferers by providing localized, real-time data on the concentration of three pollen types: trees, weeds, and grasses. Levels are classified on a five-step scale: none, low, moderate, high, and very high. 
    For example, if pollen levels are very high, the app warns: 
    “The air is saturated with pollen: intense allergic reactions are likely for sensitive individuals. It is recommended to avoid prolonged outdoor activities.” 

For each pollen type, users also get a three-day forecast, allowing them to anticipate exposure peaks and adjust their activities accordingly. This detailed forecast helps allergy sufferers plan outings and travel while minimizing health risks. 

These new features result from Netatmo’s attentive listening to its community. Over recent years, many users have requested more precise information on pollen, sunlight, and UV exposure. By integrating these into the Weather Station ORIGINAL, Netatmo meets a real need and reinforces its commitment to offering connected products that adapt to everyday life.

The Weather Station ORIGINAL  supports users daily with a smart notification system, sending real-time alerts directly to their smartphones. You can choose from preset alerts or create custom ones based on your priorities. 
Is there a frost risk? Protect your vehicle in time. Is CO₂ rising in a room? You’ll get an alert to ventilate. These tailored alerts make the Weather Station a true personal assistant for everyday comfort. 

Detailed History to Track Every Change 

Through the Netatmo Weather app, users can easily access all data collected by the Weather Station ORIGINAL. Environmental changes can be quickly visualized, helping identify trends that impact daily life. For example, tracking temperature and CO₂ levels overnight can help improve sleep quality. The new Netatmo Weather Station allows real-time weather monitoring and long-term trend analysis—an essential tool for a healthier, more informed life!
